Painting

The act of painting is complex, a dialogue between marks, colours and ideas . There is a complex relationship between finding form through visual description and playing with the media itself. While we can describe a likeness easily, paint can infer and suggest. I love a gestural mark which implies something we know, rather than photographically imitate a source.
